The nineteenth edition of the Rock na Vila Festival already has a date set: the 31st of May and the 1st of June will be marked by the return of well-known names in national music to the Vila de Rei Fairgrounds. Organized by the Municipality of Vila de Rei, this will be the nineteenth edition of the Festival and features as main attractions the bands PESTE & SIDA and BISPO, among other names that will also present high quality shows to the thousands of festival-goers expected in yet another Rock at Village. The 19th Rock na Vila Festival will then feature the following program: May 31st – Nowhere To Be Found; Plague & AIDS; Bad Monkeyz DJs; DJ Hugo Rafael. Nowhere To Be Found are an alternative metal band formed in Ericeira. The style of their early work has been described as nu-metal or post-grunge, but they have since evolved into a heavier sound, often described as alternative metal or post-hardcore. Peste & Sida were one of the historic bands of the 80s in Portuguese music. Formed in 1986, Peste & Sida are one of the great references of Rock music made in Portugal and make their debut in Vila de Rei on the first night of the 19th Rock in Vila Festival. Themes such as ‘Sol da Caparica’ or ‘Festa’ are part of the history of national music and will certainly be part of a concert that is expected to be memorable. This will also be the debut of DJs Bad Monkeyz in Vila de Rei. They will be responsible for opening the electronic tent for the 2024 edition of the Festival and, as usual in their many performances throughout the country, they promise a lot of entertainment and interactivity. Already a regular presence at various festivities in the central area and by Rock na Vila himself, DJ Hugo Rafael, will close the first night of the event and entertain Rock na Vila festival-goers until the wee hours of the morning.
June 1 – Supa Squad; Bishop; The Village King’s DJs: DJs Art’Uritos and DJ Ceadas
Supa Squad emerged in 2011 when Mr. Marley and Zacky Man combined their Cape Verdean roots with an ambitious project in the national and international music arena.
His musical projects are characterized by the fusion of new roots, reggae and dancehall. The duo is known for their energetic performances and stage presence. They have performed at festivals such as Sumol Summer Fest, Musa Cascais, MEO Sudoeste, Sol da Caparica, Campo Pequeno, Coliseu dos Recreios or Hard Club.
Bispo is one of the most charismatic and relevant names in national hip hop, having gained more and more followers and gaining more audience loyalty.
With raw writing and always accompanied by exceptional producers, the rapper from Sintra speaks directly to a young audience, who see themselves in his writing, a mirror of a reality shared by the artist and his followers.
With millions of views and reproductions on the most diverse online platforms, songs such as 'NÓS2', 'Essa Saia', 'Borboletas', among many others, will also be a huge success among the Rock na Vila Festival audience.
To close the 19th edition of the Festival, The Village King’s DJs, represented by DJs Art’Uritos and DJ Ceadas, return to the Festival’s electronic tent. Entertainment is guaranteed, with music of different styles that will guarantee several hours of dancing until dawn.
Entries to the 19th Rock na Vila Festival are free, as is camping, which offers excellent conditions for those who wish to camp and enjoy the event to its fullest.
