From 19 August until 23 September, the Alexandre O'Neill Municipal Library in Constância is hosting the exhibition ‘We are Women of April. With equality we have a future’, organised by the Women's Democratic Movement (MDM),

The exhibition, which is made up of 14 panels, aims to commemorate the 50th anniversary of 25 April and, according to the MDM, has the following objectives:

- To value and not allow the memory of women's valuable contribution to the transformation of society and their lives and the relevant role they played before and after 25 April to be erased;

- To affirm the value of women's organised struggle and the MDM's project in defence of women's rights and the values of April, the great transformations but also the great challenges that lie ahead and what remains to be done;

- To publicise the issue of equality that guarantees women fundamental rights, personal freedoms and guarantees of political participation, economic, social and cultural rights, at work, in the family and in society in general;

- To value the role played by women in resisting the fascist regime, affirming the value and importance of the organised struggle of women in defence of their rights, of freedom and democracy, of peace, for the achievement of equality, recalling the historical process and the importance of the participation of many women like Maria
